Great story.

I lived in SE AL in the mid-90s. I recall we got snow once just before Christmas. It covered the ground and was kind of nice but was gone in a day or so. I also remember spring break at Panama City Beach was kind of frozen out that year as a cold front from the north got really far south and people laying on the beach were wearing ski jackets.

I also experienced Hurricane Opal...kind of makes one nostalgic for an earthquake.
