NEDU as of 3 April 08
Hello all. A quick post to provide an update to what NEDU is up to, for those who are interested.
1. The OSF is definately back up to 100% operation, as we have conducted quite a number of dives since the Deep Dive in Jan. We have continued our "No-Stops" protocol to provide more statistical data on the 150 and 190 ft "No-D" times. We've also run a number of dives with some folks testing some new dry suit configurations in 35 degree water.
2. We're working on a contaminated water dive helmet now, seeing if we can get it to leak.
3. Getting ready to start up a protocol to actually quanitify the oxygen consumption of a diver working in various dive suits, from swim suit to dry suit.
4. Finished our inputs to revision 6 of the US Navy Dive manual. For the navy divers here, there are a number of changes in the new revision. You should be seeing it on the streets early this summer.
5. Met many folks in NJ at the Beneath the Sea convention. Thanks to all who stopped by the booth. I believe we are convention-less until DEMA next fall.
Well, the weather is getting warmer and its time to get back out in open water. To all of you who are dusting off the gear from the winter break, enjoy, be safe, and we'll see you around.
Cheers
