Thanks from MSRA, numbers and news!

I wanted to thank everyone who came to the 10th annual "Mysteries and Histories Beneath the Inland Seas" event in Holland, MI last evening, May 3.

Here's what you missed if you could not attend:

1. MSRA gladly accepted a $1,000 grant from Great Lakes Shipwreck Research Foundation of Wisconsin. Thanks to Kimm and Brad for keeping us in mind. This will go a long way toward the cost of documentation and eduication efforts!

2. We announced that MSRA is now a federaly recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. Yes, now all your donations and contributions (above actual value) are tax deductible!

3. We announced the location of the Hennepin (see our web site for details. If you've visited the page before you may have to refresh the view. This is a tech dive at 230 feet.

3. Ralph Wilbanks and the NUMA crew have located two more significant-sized wrecks in the past two weeks -- in fact on one of the days when Clive Cussler was here with them. (Yes, we hosted Clive for a few days!) A new schooner wreck and a wooded steamer still need to be identified, but those who attended the show can tell you the images look very promising. And, they're not so damned deep!!!

I apologize to anyone who wanted to spend a few minuted chatting last night. It was a crazy, busyevening and stopping to talk with everyone was impossible. Thanks for your patience and we hope to see ya'll next year!
