Hey Bottlecap.
Where are you in NM? This place is no divers paradise, but there are quite a few divers here. We have a group that goes to the Blue Hole to dive about once a month if you are interested, it is not great, but it is better than nothing, goes to 85-ish feet. As was mentioned, MX and Catalina is not too far, and there are always trips to FL, Coz, etc.
You might want to head over to the Rocky Mtn. Oysters forum to say hi. There are alot if divers in this area and some real nice folks too.
EDIT - Just noticed you are in SF, my sister-in-law is in SF and she dives about once a month at BH. I am in ABQ. There are no dive shops in SF, but there are 3 in ABQ, about 45mins away.
