2 things to consider:
take ADO bus from the airport it is $8 leaves every hour.
Buy an "emergency poncho" $1 at most stores basically a plastic bag with arm holes and a hood. Folds to about the size of a pack of smokes. Walgeens has them. Comes in handy in the tropics.
