I agree with DivePartner1. talk to a professional. your insurance company and an attorney should answer all you questions. my girlfriend is an attorney for the insurance industry and is always scaring the crap out of me. she see's lawsuits in her sleep. sometimes i think she is dating a bunch of contractors because she is always telling me to fix things on my properties. but she has no problem with me taking my buddies diving as long as i accept no money, not even gas money. so that is my only advice, dont acccept anything that can be seen as payment. also, in my experience you dont have to fear a lawsuit from a friend. the motivation is usually from a family member who is convinced they are not bringing suit against you but your insurance company. anyone who has been sued can tell you different. also along that line, look into an umbrella policy on top of your boat and homeowners policy. if you have any assets, its a must. again talk to the professionals.
