Troy King (Alabama prosecutor) letter to Cameron Dick (Australian prosecutor) dated August 31, 2010 expressing frustration over the lack of cooperation in handing over evidence in spite of numerous promises that there would be cooperation. Small excerpt: "..it appears that no matter how Alabama works to comply with your requests, you continue to find new demands that continue to shield Gabe Watson from justice.."

Sydney-diver posted the link above dated Sept. 6, to the official web site of the Queensland Government Cabinet stating that they will cooperate.

News, what's new:

- Alabama Grand Jury set to consider murder charges on Sat. 10/23/10. Hearing set for six hours.
- Charges: murder for money and kidnapping by trick
- Watson does not have criminal attorney yet
- Watson will be deported in November, accompanied by an immigration escort (would have to be U.S. since he is not "immigrating" to Australia)

Old news, but not yet posted here. Watson gets to be an actor in the prison's theatre group. He plays the role of Lennox in MacBeth. It was posted on a Facebook page dedicated to those people who support Watson. So for those who thought Watson was paying some heavy duty dues, perhaps not.

Maybe someone could "make the problem "go away"" while he is out celebrating his freedom. I do not understand why Australia cares what the US does to him.

Australia doesn't care what happens to him as such. What we do have is a law that we don't extradite people to face capital charges.

As things stand at the moment; The State of Alabama has promised the State of Queensland and then the Commonwealth of Australia that he won't be facing a death sentence if found guilty - all well and good; however the State of Queensland has no jurisdiction over immigration or international extradition matters, these are the province of the Federal (ie Commonwealth of Australia) Govt and when considering these issues, our Federal Government deals with other National (ie not State) Governments and is thus awaiting an assurance from the US Federal Govt (ie Washington) that Watson won't be put on trial for his life.

Once that is received, he'll be on the next plane out of here. Just as in the USA, Australia has laws and these have to be respected by everyone, including the Govt; the very worst thing that could happen is that he was deported without observing due process, because once you start making exceptions, they become the rule and we go from Rule of Law (which people have fought and died for these last 200+ years) to Rule by Decree or Expediency.

The State of Alabama will get their man, they just have to get the right paperwork (from the US Govt) and if it means that they have to wait a while, well so be it.

So you . . .

and then call the discusion

and

And proceed to label all of the above

Then to sum it up, you decide

and proclaim

So, how about you share with us what makes your proclamations, opinion, denigrating judgments, and "gossip" any more or less valid than any of ours? :idk:

I salute K-Girl's research efforts and clear format in which it is presented. It is well sourced and easily validated.
