First time I heard it raining during a dive was in Roatan. I was diving with Herman "on this board". We were at 55-60 ft on the Prince Albert and could clearly hear the rain.

The rain was the front edge of Hurricane Wilma.

Friday was our "no dive" day so that little shower found us as we were tooling around the island on a little scooter. Still made for a fun adventure.
When we landed at the airport I asked a local about the weather forecast. She said she thought someone just automatically put rain in the forecast becuase it was considered the rainy season. . .and if it rained at all it would be a quick little shower and be over. Friday's rain was a little more than a quick little shower but it did make the temp a bit cooler for the rest of the day.

It is funny watching weather reports for the islands. I went to Cuba in June and for 2 months prior I looked at the weather for Cayo Coco.....every day except possible 3 or 4 called for thunderstorms. I was concerned but could do nothing. Our week was beautiful and if it rained for half an hour all week we were lucky. A friend of mine checked it while we were there and said it showed....Thunderstorms. I have learned that unless I am going in Stormy/Hurricane season, I will not worry about it either way. And if I am going at that time, I will come here or Bonaire Talk or somewhere where there are those travelling and locals to speak the truth.
