Question Sea horse, frog fish locations please?

Hello to the Curacao dive community. My family and I are at All West Apartments this week. This is our second dive trip to here, and our first time at this end of the island. Having a great time, getting in lots of diving. I've been hunting for sea horses and frog fish which we enjoyed finding so much on our last trip. I'd read that there were some sea horses at Playa Kalki, and one at Playa Piscado, our house reef, but so far no luck. Ruud at Ocean Encounters told me that their seahorses at Kalki have disappeared. So my question to you all is: any hints on the present location of froag fish or sea horses? And while I'm asking, any skinny on where the eagle rays are hanging this week? Thanks for your help.

Check with the Dive Bus. They have a resident sea horse but he travels around. There is also one at the Tug Boat site. Ask at Downtown Diving. There had been one forever in front of Sunset Waters, ask there. David found a frog fish at Playa Mansalina at San Juan a couple of weeks ago. And for eagle rays, they are always spotted at Playa Kalki even by the snorkelers. Divers have found a seahorse around 30-35 feet directly in front of All West. It used to be easy to say "look at the mooring line of the dark orange buoy" but now it's more difficult. Hopefully you've seen all the juveniles; Sargent majors, drums etc.
Big night for Boston fans; Go Celtics!!

This is a couple years old but there used to be a pair at Varsenbaai. Drop down on the mooring ball and look about 3' up the wall. There's kind of a sandy area above the ball look just above that - if they're still there - they had been for a long time when we were there. The diveop mgr. there told us how to find them. Sunset Divers also told us they see them at Lost Anchor but we didn't.

    Thanks, Sunshine!

Thanks very much, Sunshine, for the info. I realized after I posted that I should have placed Curacao in the title. We'll try your suggestions, and will head back over to Kalki to look for rays. I've been told a lot of the seahorses haven't been seen since a hurricane brushed the island, but it is fun to look!
I see that you kindly supply all kinds of info to divers on this board. Thanks for your time. We were eating in on this trip, but hope to come over and dine with you at Sol Food on our next trip, which I will now start saving for!

Cheryl, You don't have to eat, you can come by to say hello - you do have to drive past the house to get to the dive shop.... don't forget, Thursday is a holiday and many places - like the grocery stores, will be closed.
PS on the weekends some stop in just for a drink but usually it's for a brownie.....
Maybe next year, Celtics and Bruins ;(

Sighted a yellow frogfish at Diver's Leap (about 20 meters northwest of the mooring) on 11 April 2009.

    Thanks very much, everyone!

Thanks for the information, Sean Paul and Musicgirl. I had much fun in the search!

Maybe your right, Andreas, about finding what you're not searching for. My first dive in Curacao in 2004 I saw Eagle Rays, which I certainly did not expect! This trip my group was watching a Hawksbill turtle near Kalki when Allison came along with a couple doing their Open Water Cert. She and I discussed later how lucky they were to see a turtle on their first dive. Now if that doesn't hook you on diving, I don't know what would.

Sorry I didn't see your message until I came home, Sunshine. I'd love to meet you next time I'm around, which might not be too long. We've decided to start saving right away for our next trip back. Lot's of rice and beans for us : )
Thanks again for all your help.
