We just bought a new diver safety device - a portable handheld dive flag and think it is a great idea.

Has anyone else tried it yet - we haven't had chance to hit the water with it yet, but our land trials indicate it will be a great new piece of diver safety equipment.

Information about it can be found at Diving BC - News about the fantastic diving in British Columbia, Canada

Seems less visible from a distance than a Signaling Sausage and whilst a SS can be used for a few other things what else can this little flag do?

Just designed to be used in case of emergency or to attract attention. It is an alternative to the sausage, no air needed and no cords to worry about getting tangled. Since you can wave it around we thought it was as visible or more than the sausage in our land test. I'll let you know when we hit the water.
