Diver dies after being pulled from water in Mission Bay | UTSanDiego.com
SAN DIEGO A man diving for lobsters in Mission Bay died Sunday night after being pulled from the water.
The man had been free diving near the Ventura Street Bridge on West Mission Bay Drive about 8:30 p.m., San Diego lifeguard Lt. Greg Buchanan said.
After someone called 911, lifeguards arrived and found the man on some rocks where someone was giving him CPR, Buchanan said. They moved the victim to flat ground and continued lifesaving measures to no avail.
Its unclear what caused the mans death. Its believed he was in his 20s. His name has not been released.
