Scuba diver disappears off Mayaro | Trinidad Express Newspaper | News
COAST GUARD and Air Guard personnel were last evening searching for a Petrotrin retiree who went missing while scuba diving in Mayaro.
Police were told that around 10.30 a.m. the man went scuba diving with two other Petrotrin retirees some 30 miles east of Radix Point EOG platform.
Around 3 p.m. Coast Guard officials received a report that two of the divers resurfaced, while one could not be found.
Calls to Petrotrin’s manager of Corporate Communications Gillian Friday were met with voicemail.
Officers of the Mayaro Police Station also visited the scene and are continuing investigations.

Hmm... four and a half hours between the victim entering the water and the Coast Guard getting a report that he'd gone missing? Not good.

The boat may not have had a radio. Fortunately, about the time they were reporting him missing, another boat was saving him...

Missing diver found - Alive! | Trinidad Express Newspaper | News
The Petrotrin retiree who disappeared while on a spearfishing expedition on Wednesday was found alive.
He was reported missing by friends around 10.30am and four more than four hours later.
Police said three men were scuba diving near EOG's offshore platform, off Pt Radix, on Trinidad's east coast.
Investigators said two of the men resurfaced. They began searching for the third person, but he was not found.
Coast Guard and Air Guard personnel were contacted and a search was launched.
Public relations officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard Kirk Jean-Baptiste said the man was recovered near the platform around 3p.m. "The man was found close to the platform by a service vessel to the platform," he said.

Are there any update regarding the diver? How is he doing now? Seemed to be hopeless at first but nothing is impossible. Prayers to the diver for a very fast recovery.
