The Saratoga, first commissioned in 1925, was a 40 thousand ton, 268 meter long aircraft carrier. She did tours in the Pacific, Nicaragua, San Diego, Hawaii, Guadalcanal and Marshall Islands. In 1944 she was commissioned to train aviators for night operations. In Feb. 1945 she carried night fighters during the Iwo Jima invasion and raids on the Japanese home islands.

I have never seen the word "Nucular" put into print before. I am curious. What was your reasoning for choosing that over "Nuclear"?

BTW....that looks like an interesting article. I will read it tonight when I have more time.

Link to cost for the trip. The boat is 6500 USD. They also have trip you can sign up for. Seems like a nice operation and a dream.....................

Hi Pete - Yeah, we dont talk about such things like "How much did it cost!??" When you put it down to number of dives, you end up looking at yourself in the mirror saying " You paid HOW MUCH for each dive!!!!!!!"

There is no escaping it. Its one hell of a pricey trip and you will limp for a while after the trip due to the financial dent in ones pocket. But we have to spend our money on something - right?

Have a look at some of the pictures I took. Makes it all worth the hassles!!!

Cant wait to do it all again this August (12-25) I am sure there will be a million new pictures to show and tell! Trips are already filling up for 2012/13 If you are interested in coming, have a look at Bikini Atoll wreck diving

    Kind regards

I agree. This is a little known trip that sounds amazing. I hope to one day have the money to do it.
