Trident inflator on Atmos XT?

I despise the inflator on my Atmos XT, I have trouble hitting only deflate when wearing gloves. I've spoken to reps at two Aeris authorized shops and one says that a Trident inflator assembly will work fine with my XT and the other states it categorically will not.

Which is true? I don't want to take the inflator off if I don't have to just to find out the answer to this.

Thanks!

What does Trident say other wise you are going have to buy the inflator and send it to aeris so they can try it on thier bcds.

Trident says they don't sell to individuals, and it will fit a standard 1" hose, hence the reason I asked the LDS' if it would fit.
