Anyone know if there's a reasonably practical way of combining Tofu with a few days in a resort in the Bazaruto Archipelago? Would it be expensive/complicated to arrange a transfer with car?

What about the diving in other places in Moz, like Ponta Do'uro, Morrungulo ...others? Which are the more spectacular? What are the benefits and the downsides?

All information is appreciated

cheers

Can't comment on other areas but I dive Ponto D'Ouro regularly and it's really good diving. Mostly easy diving with great visibility but of course conditions can vary at times.

The reefs vary from Creche (12metres) where there's plenty juvenile fish to Pinnacles (43 metres) where you'll definitely see the larger stuff. There is no better dive than Pinnacles on the perfect day, we once had a school of about 40 hammerhead sharks close by on the entire dive. Bull sharks are also spotted on most dives.

However, Ponto D'Ouro is a few kilometres north of the South African border and a 4 wheel drive vehicle is required to get there. If you enter Mocambique from the South African side at the Kosi Bay border gate, you can leave your car in a secure, guarded parking area and the dive charters will meet you at the border and transfer you to the dive lodge at a minimal fee (approx 10 Euro's).

For more information on fly in packages etc, have a look at these two sites.

Hope it helps

You should be able to do Bazaruto and Tofo fairly easily , enquire at the resort you will be staying at re transport to get between the two. To get to Ponto from the Maputo side you will need 4X4 .
Not too sure about getting to Morrungulo by car though , I will make enquiries.
