Some new African data has been added to GE. It takes the form of a community based GPS mapping forum . Members submit tracks and waypoints (resorts, points of interest, fuel, restuaraunts etc) to the Tracks4Africa forum, these are analysed and combined into a map that can be loaded onto a Garmin map capable GPS.

This mapping has now been incorporated into GE. The mapping is not 100% up to date , but most of the popular places and routes are there. It is updated every 3 months.

To view the data open up the Layers menu on the left hand toolbar, open Featured Content , click on Tracks4Africa.

Hope this helps someone planning a trip to this continent.

Thanks man, just spend a few hours looking at my home in Kenya, and Mt. Kenya! Happy memories!
