Hi All,

We are pleased to announce Africa's First live-aboard adventure for the annual Sardine run in South Africa. We have secured the use of a fabulous expedition yacht perfectly suited for the vagaries of the weather at the time of the run. No more sitting on a beach watching giant surf crash on the shore!

We are on the water from the time the sun rises till it sets, with hot showers and meals between dives.

We can also operate much further offshore which results in cleaner water and if the shoals have moved beyond the range of shorebased operations we can still reach them.

Pricing is $5990 (US)for 6 nights onboard. All meals and diving are included. We provide tanks and weightbelts and gear rental can be organised prior to arrival, thus leaving more space for camera goodies.

The departures begin on the 3rd of June and continue to the last departure on the 29th of July. We still have some departures available for 2010!!

We also have access to numerous exclusive game lodges in case you want to combine the sardines with a safari!

We also provide generous referral commissions as well as full departure comissions.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Regards from Sunny South Africa
Ivan

Hi all,

Just a quick update. All slots for 2011 just about sold out. Amos Nachoum, one of the worlds best u/w phtographers has a few spaces left on one of his departures. Check out the details at biganimals.com.

We will be taking enquiries for 2012 soon.

Regards,
Ivan

They did not do this in 2010 as there hatch was sold. Now using a minesweeper as a boat in 2011 and 1st 2 weeks did not leave the harbor to my knowledge due to ship being broken

Not sure what a sold hatch has to do with a boat doing the sardine run :shakehead:

However while the vessel did sustain damage (which is almost fully repaired) on entering the port due to the flood conditions all guests were relocated to Aliwal Shoal where they have enjoyed fantastic diving with Diving in Africa, a company that focus's on diver safety and comfort rather than just getting bodies on the boat. It actually worked out great as the conditions for Sardines have been pretty poor in the East London, lower wild coast region.

All three sold out trips following from here are on track and all our clients that came out for the first two trips are returning next year.

Please make sure of your facts before posting potentially libelous comments.

Sorry iPad typo meant boat was sold so no trips were done in 2010. And please explain libelous comments? Did u do your first two trips on the sardine run?
