As there's not a lot of information in English about diving in Mayotte, the French-owned island in the Comoros Archipelago, here's a link to my blog post about our diving trip there this month: Smart Travels: Diving in Mayotte.

Mayotte has a large (1100km2) and deep (up to 80m) lagoon, and sharks, rays, dolphins, turtles etc can be seen there. Humpback whale season is between July-October. There are a few dugongs in the lagoon too.

Thanks for that dive report. How was the visibility? Especially outside the lagoon? Did you see any dugongs?
