    Dive in a Slushie

Whittier today, 1-16. Two dives. Good visibility, water temp about 37-39.

Route to the cove is a little snowy. In fact, we were having the typical chugach cement snowfall, quite heavy at times. Caused a rim of slush to form on the ocean surface during our second dive. Almost like working your way through a slurpie on the surface.

Boy, any time I begin to pat myself on the back for being a hard-core winter diver, I just need to read this post . . .

It was quite fun in an Alaskan sort of way. There is a beauty to diving in a snowstorm and then there is always the camaraderie of the warming hut between dives. Worst part is the drive homw getting behind a motor home driven by a tourist who does not know how to drive in a snowstorm.
