While being at work on Memorial day and having a bit o' down time, I ran across the new NiMH batteries, which allegedly will fit my Dive Rite Wreck Lite canister and offer 50% more burn time. Or, if I opt for spending more money, I could get an even smaller canister, which I really don't care about.

What's the downside to NiMH batteries?

Campana,

Check this out. It's got more info on batteries (all types) than I've seen anywhere:

Dave...I gave you a link on DL to a good battery site that will explain the strengths and weaknesses of NiMH batteries.

I switched to the NiMH in my camera strobes a few years ago. It's well worth the savings...at least for cameras.

If you're interested, I can point you to a recharger that takes the worry out of discharging/charging batteries.

Basically if your not concerned with your big bulky MLS1 or the Wreck cannister there is not much reason to swith to NiMH. I switched because my buddy makes the cannisters and they are 3 times smaller then the MLS1 or the Wreck on a milling machine at Kodak.
