I am interested in getting suggestions and recommendations on great shore diving locations in the Carribean.

I am a big fan of shore dives and have been to Curacao and Bonaire mutiple times, but would like to try a new island that offers great shore diving.

I am new to this board and appreciate your help and input.

Why limit yourself to shore diving? There are lots of places in the Caribbean offering fine diving with a short boat trip.

However, at least part of the reef off Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman can be dived from shore. Both Fantasy Island and Coco View on Roatan also offer good shore diving. On both islands, you'll miss some good sites by not taking a boat.

There are some amazing shore dives in cayman. You can even do some wall dives from shore if you know where to go. West Bay Mini wall by the turtle farm is a great night dive, with awsome basket stars and many other interesting things...

I also love french quarter, wall dive.

If you want info on location, there is a great guide

We dived Babylon and Anchor Point off the North East wall of Grand Cayman last year. These are truly Beautiful dives. Its quite a long swim to the wall,20 min?? and if you dont pay attention to your depth you could find yourself at 6000 feet . Returning in August to explore the other sites along this stretch of shore. It was great not being on anybody elses schedule and the cost was something like $6 /tank

The directions at

were very helpful in finding the entry points.

There are numerous places in Grand Caymen. Right in downtown Georgetown there is Eden Rock and Devils Grotto. These both have significant diving pressure, yet are still fantastic dives loaded with baracuda, eels, turtles, coral tunnels, etc. Great fun and easy, easy access. Just dove there several weeks ago and had a blast
