Hello all, I've never been to the Philippines and I'm thinking about taking a liveaboard trip in Oct-Nov. Does anyone have an opinion about where the best liveaboard diving is during this time? For me best means some pelagics, some big stuff, including shark activity and some small unusual critters as well. I'm an experienced diver who is comfortable with currents and I've spent a lot of time diving in PNG and I'm hoping to to find diving in the Philippines that's comparable. The post in the marketplace section of this forum which describes a recent scientific survey that refers to the Philippines as the center of marine species diversity has peeked my interest. Any input will be much apreciated. Thanks-Andy

however i was just informed today of that a liveaboard this month is down by 20%

Liveaboard diving in the Philippines is far and few as compared to PNG, and it's highly seasonal. For October, there might be special charters to Apo Reef. You can inquire from Scubaworld at
http://www.explorerfleet.com/
They might have scheduled runs to Apo Reef that time.

You can also try a dive safari. This allows you to dive the different divesites from Cebu all the way to Bohol, but you stay in a resort per destination. Check out
http://www.sea-explorers.com/e/ look under Dive Safaris

Hope this helps.
