a question to you guys.

what do you say if we post dive sites (philippines dive sites) and dive briefing of site on the board?

another question, sort of a test. which is correct "Philippine" or "Philippines"?

examples:

Republic of the Philippines Republika ng Pilipinas
The Philippines Pilipinas

Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines

Philippine National Red Cross

"philippineS" is the noun...

philippine (w/o S) is an adjective... so both are actually correct...

w/o S is used when referring to an object w/c is (by nature) of the or from the philippines (w/ s)

turn that around and the "w/ s" version becomes the referrence point for our little group of islands as one nation (political or cultural notwithstanding)

ok ba? nerdoks na ba ang dating? hahahahahaha

Jag

PS
tamad ako... go to www.intas-travel.com and click on "philippines"... they did most of the work na

great idea bro. we can post philippine dive sites we have actually dove in and post em for the benefit of others. whats the format chief?

If that is the case then the Forum heading :

Philippine Paradise Divers is ....... correct or needs an "S"?

So i'll start a new thread for dive sites briefing.

the format should contain

site name
entry/exit procedures
site description (depth, contour, whats to be seen)
environmental description
special procedures to do a safe dive
duration at specific depth

others as you may like to add
a map posted would be great

site name -Bahura (pls see attached map) (Ist leg)

You start at the layag layag point, adjust your compass to 330 degrees and descend to around 15 ft. Relax and start finning. Site is characterized by downward terraces type from 5 to 10 ft between ridge edge. Fish life is prolific. Coral reef is very much alive in color (at 15 to 120 ft).

Soon (3 -4 mins.) you'll come to a big sand garden where you usually spot a nurse shark resting, that is if your early. Continue on (3-4 mins) and you'll hit the first cavern where again some sharks rest (10 mins. at 90 to 95 ft). Same bearing ( after 3 mins finning) and at 60 ft. would be the 2nd cavern, stop, kneel and look up before you round that bend (at 270 degrees), fish activity above the cavern would determine if the current is now running (watch your bubbles as it clears the mount), if it is, you need to signal everybody to dig or crawl your way to to get to the next ridge (when you see the triggerfishes that means you have arrived). Stay, hook and watch, air permitting. Adjust your compass to 0 to continue on or to exit. Be wary of the changing currents, It gets to mild to very strong (current coming from the east side of bahura collides with the current coming from bethlehem causing a washing machine effect) in a matter of seconds. As always the show starts when the current is running. Low on air signal is 1,000 psi. You'll need it when strong downcurrents sweep you when you let go of that rock to start ascent.

3 weeks ago we were swept or should I say tumbled and rolled from 35ft to 80 ft in a matter of seconds, air bubbles going down, even at the safety stop our signal balloons just wont rise! So fierce indeed

Max depth is usually 120 ft.,

You can do a nitrox dive here if u want. Just hook in on top of the second cavern at 50 to 55 ft. and watch.

Dive time is 50 to 55 mins with the currents running.

next the 2nd leg......
