I made a snare. I'll post a picture or two of it soon. It goes over the antenna and locks onto the horn, then you pull like heck and Voila!

Interesting!! Post a picture of the locking mechanism.

I have better luck if I put it behind the lobster and let the lobster back into the loop. They're too twitchy when I put stuff in their face.

You Florida guys have it easy!!! If you use a snare here in California, they put you away for life-or at least slap you with a hefty fine. Something about crimes against crustaceans. Post the picture though. I'm interested in it for viewing purposes only-I swear.

Nice idea, just not very practical. A lobster's antennae are very sensitive and almost constantly in motion when you are near. One touch on the antenna and, unless he is solidly in a hole where he cannot back up, he is gone. You might manage to get one occasionally, but not nearly as reliably as with a tail snare.

Ok, here are the pictures of the snare...

It works. Don't think it don't!

Keyshunter: you gotta try it first.
They aren't that sensitive and they will let you do it.
I was absolutely sure they would not let do it before I tried it
but believe me, it works. You do need to do it with a little finesse!
