As I begin to think along the lines of obtaining my first set of doubles, I thought I would solicit the opinions of our experienced divers here...

Which Isolation Manifold would you recommend and why? And why that one over the compitition?

Well Mike... I would recommend you get the Sea Elite from Diver's Supply because it is indentical to the Dive Rite and Halcyon (with one exception *) and comes O2 ready with rubber knobs for $170.

The barrel cross over vs. face seal (OMS) has been debated before and I am sure you are aware of it so I won't repeat that...

* the exception (we have all three) seems to be that the Sea Elite has slightly fewer turns from off to open... this may or may not be a factor... a roll off could happen easier but also be corrected faster.

Contact info for Divers Supply, please?

BUT I tried to order one and they told me backordered for 90 DAYS. Had to get a Halcyon instead at a much higher price ;-0

Try DS but call them as they are not good about notifying on online orders.

Definitely call 1-800-999-3483 (then 3) instead of online ordering...

And be sure to inquire if the item is in stock... I have cancelled several orders after waiting an inordinate amount of time... but they were always friendly, helpful and willing...

Mike you might want to consider getting the cross-over port plugs for $10 each so that you can use the valves as singles unless you plan on doubling them up permanently right away.

Shane and I both have bands and crossovers on the shelf so we can spank together another set of doubles but it is nice to have the flexibility.

I haven't seen the Sea Elite but the Halcyon has less turns than than the Dive Rite. O-rings are also different. We have had 4 DR manifolds and had to replace the o-rings in all of them. They are soft and come apart gumming up the valve. Takes two men and a boy to turn the valve. Halcyon is also O2 ready.

Thanks for the info....

Now to see what I can get the piggy bank to regurgitate.

Sea Elite w/highland bands. You will not be disappointed!
