Bantayan, anyone?

Hi - have booked my flight for a trip to the philis in two weeks. Will be arriving in Cebu on Sep 1. Plan to visit a friend in Dauis on Panglao Island, Bohol and dive the reef in front of her parents place

, from there do some more diving on Cabilao and Basicalag. But was also looking for some less familiar places, like maybe Bantayan Island off the Northwest tip of Cebu Island. Anyone been there for diving and/or have pointers? Is it worthwhile? Many thanks in advance!

Bantayan Island is just by Malapascua right? good divign there.

Thanks Paulov - agree that Malapascua has some great diving. Especially liked Gato Island - all the caves and crevices and the white-tips in between, lots of fun. Do you know whether there is any diving in the immediate vicinity of Bantayan itself, though?

Not sure if there's a diveshop in Bantayan Island, but you can go to this link and see all the resorts in the island http://www.travelphil.com/uebernachten/uebernachten_visayas_cebu.html#a_boy_6. Your best bet is to contact one of the resorts and find out about diving in Bantayan island. Hope this helps.
