We call them pinfish over this way.

Here is the only good "before" picture that I got of the shrimp.

I don't think the fish wants his name known after being exposed like this :D.
 
Great pic! I've seen those 'shrimp' before, usually attempting to come out a shell, but never out in the open. Great capture!

Did this thing come out of a shell? He didn't look too healthy and not at all happy with being out in the open - I guess we now know why.
 
The ones I've seen, and I'm 95% certain its the same crab/shrimp, were in a shell, but poking out enough to recognize it as the little guy you photographed. Alas, I was shooting with a spear instead of a camera on the last dive I've seen em.
