Besides Gary's, Desert Divers, and Saguaro's Diving & Sports boats, who are some other charters in San Carlos?

We need a boat that will accommodate us diving with doubles. And will go to the island.

I'm asking this in the Arizona Scuba threads because it is mainly Arizona divers that dive there.

Thanks for any info

Just returned from San Carlos on Sunday. Seas were a little rough, but we found some great diving nonetheless. Of course, finding that diving can be difficult without the right boat crew!

Personally, when I go down to San Carlos and I have been there about a dozen times, I go on the Ocean Spirit. http://www.desertdivers.com/Boat_Information.cfm

I do not believe the El Duque is actively operating. The Ocean Spirit holds about 36 divers and it is very seldom that the crew does not find whales and/or dolphins on the way to the dive site. Further, Victor and Ernesto know their way around all the dive sites like the back of their hand.

I know Scuba Specialties charters a lot of trip down to San Carlos on the Ocean Spirit.

Elmar Dive Centers has a store in Mesa and one on the main strip in San Carlos. A decent operation overall. http://www.elmar.com

I believe Elmar charters Gary's Dive Boats. They are one of the most seasoned in town (est. 1971). They also offer pretty good food on board. Personally, I think there is more room on the Ocean Spirit, but ...

Surface Time is another option. Don't know much about them, besides seeing them show up at several dive sites while we were there. Their trawler looks similar to Gary's Boat. I know Ultimate Dive and Travel does a lot of trips to San Carlos and they use Surface Time. Surface Time is located pretty close to the marina and is right next door to one of my favorite restaurants - Tequila's.
