What do you guys think of spring buckles (e.g. http://www.xsscuba.com/weight_access.html).

My last few dives I've been using that XsS AC310 spring buckle from the link above. I don't really like it. I haven't noticed any benefits. In fact, I find it harder to get a nice snug fit while on the surface. Sure, the point to the system is that it will get tighter as you shrink on descent, but I've never really got it dialed in.

Even at 70+ FSW, I seem to have a more snug fit with a standard buckle on my weight belt.

Am I doing something wrong?

What are your impressions?

I've dived with a Tekna model for the last 7-8 years or so. I like it. Unfortunately the rivet wore down so it is no longer spring-loaded... in fact it sticks straight out from my belt. I'll fix it this winter but it has never let loose on me.

Tamas:
How exactly does it work?

Slide joint and a spring.

If you pull on both ends of it, it expands against the tension in the spring.

You strap it on over your exposure suit on the surface. As you descend, you lose girth. The spring pulls in the slack.
