Hello all,

I'm being taken to Key West the first week in Nov. by the new girlfriend.

Can anyone please give Ideas on dive ops and site for Key West.
Thaks P.l

I went with southpoint divers...

I should add... They were very good.

just be aware that the diving around Key West isn't exactly good.

for great diving, you'll have to go to the Dry Tortugas

for good diving, Key Largo, Marathon, or Isla Morada would be better bets

... if you're going to be in Key West, try to dive Looe Key... I've been blown out on two attempts and they say it's the best in the Keys. Looe Key Dive Center is only about 25 minutes north of Key West, so I'm pretty sure you can find a dive op locally that goes there.

oh yeah... i have heard great things about Looe Key, just never been there myself

Key west is better for drinking (and smoking cigars) than diving.

thaks guys.... here is another question for you... what kind of weather am I in for the first week in Nov. .???

The 1st week in November, the weather will be nice. It's still warm in Florida in November. The water temps are in the mid to upper 70's. Check out this touristy site:

Remember, though, the Hurricane Season does not end until November 30. Normally, I wouldn't be concerned at all, but this is a busy year. Just plan accordingly and if you have to get out, get out. No hessitation.

Looe Key is definitely the best reef in the Keys IMO. Also nearby is the Adolphus Busch wreck if you are AOW. Further to the north (east) is Sombrero Reef off Marathon, also a very nice and less often dived reef. Most of the times we go out there we are the only divers (plenty of snorkelers though). Most of the good diving off KW is on the wrecks from what I've heard. Can't really help you with operators since I dive off my own boat down there but if you need advice about the sites north of KW (especially around Marathon) let me know.
