Hello. I am interested in learning to dive and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good shop/instructor in the Port Charlotte, Florida area. Thank you.

Hmmm, I'm not sure of one in that area. Try asking the same question in the Florida Conch Divers forum... http://www.scubaboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=55 and there are more people there that can better answer your question. If you are in the Tampa/Brandon area, Depth Perception Dive Center is an awesome place to go!

I dont know about Fla. but you are doing the right thing asking. You may want to look in the phone book also and make some house calls on dive shops in your area to see who makes you feel good. Good luck and happy diving.

Flpearl, i moved your question here to get you some local imput

welcome aboard, and welcome to diving (sort of)

Come down to Fort Myers and visit Dean's Dive Center. Checkout their web site for OW classes and dive trips. They use a local High School pool for training and do the four certification dives in Marathon. Then you can join other divers every month for trips in the Keys and East Coast. When you call the Dive Shop ask for Nelson or Brent.
