Just got back from a pretty good day of diving the Crystal River springs. We hit Kings Spring, Catfish Hole, Mollases Spring (Gator Hole), and Three Sisters Springs.

All in all it was a great day for diving. Weather was awesome. We left Riverview, FL around 7:00am and hit the Port Marina and Hotel at 8:45am. Rented a Jon Boat for $15 first hour, $10 each addtional. Paid for 3 hours.

0910: Suited up and hit the water and Kings Spring. One class of OW students was already in the water but other than that nobody around.

Visability: First 20 feet was pretty murky and stirred up from the class. After that and down into the cavern the vis was great.

Tried out a friends new UK light and it was awesome. Saw about a dozen catfish and some other types. First time in the cavern and it was bigger than I had anticipated. Swam around and up the other opening. Back to the surface at 0935.

We then headed back to the dive shop to TOP off our bottles. Still had plenty of air but figured if we topped off we didn't have to worry about conserving. And for $4 a fill who cares.

1030: Hit Catfish hole. If you havn't been there it's alright. Nothing too exciting going on but a bunch of cat fish. It's about a 5 foot wide hole under this dock and after you drop into the hole it opens up to about a 10 X 20 room. Pretty neat but don't expect to spend much time there. We spent 10 minutes.

1100: Gator Hole (Molasses Spring). Waste of time. Nothing to see.

1115: Three Sisters. Nice shallow dive site. Only 5 or 6 people snorkeling so it was not packed. Other than my weights falling out of my new BC it was pretty uneventful.
The VIS was excellent as always. Spent alot of time around the shore lines looking at the vegetation and different fish. No manatees. That may be a few months yet.

Thanks for the report, sounds like you guys killed half a day off nicely.
