I've seen several posts around SB about people considering buying tanks from Tech Diving Limited (but just in the last few weeks).
Has anyone actually perchased them, paid for them, reiceived them, and been happy with the quality of the product and the transaction?
Its a lot of money to send to a dot com that you know nothing about.

They're ok to deal with. Joes Silverstein, the owner, has been around for a long time. I'm not sure what you mean by "quality of the product" since they pretty much brand-name items and not relabeled house brands. I know exactly what I'm buying before I order it so as to avoid any surprises when I receive it. If you are not sure what you're buying or why, then you ought to stick to buying locally in a B&M dive shop.

Joel is a straight-up guy, plain and simple. He runs a real LDS in AZ, he just happens to also sell online. If you do a google search, you'll also find he's been doing tech diving for a long, long time. I'd buy one of those LP tanks from him in a heartbeat if I didn't have more immediate uses for my scubadollars, in fact I might anyway. :)

I bought 2 LP steel tanks from TDL about a year ago, I was happy with the product, happy with the service and I have purchased a few things from Joel since. No worries.
Dove those tanks today in fact. ;)

TDL and Joel, have always treated me right. I would not hesitate to purchase from TDL again. Brand names, good prices, good service.

Seeing Joel's posts on the internet, his interaction with customers, and the many many compliments he receives, when considered with my own dealings, means I would never hesitate to buy anything at all from him.

I purchased two Faber LP 95's from Joel at Tech Diving Limited. I had them shipped to my home in Virginia. They arrived when expected and exactly as represented. I was completely satisfied.
I am currently in Southern California and on my trip (by car) from Virginia to California I made the slight detour from Interstate 40 down to his shop in Lake Havasu City to say hello. It is a nice clean shop that has an in person retail store and also an internet presence. The retail shop is more tailored to the recreational diver and the internet shop is more for tech gear, but the people behind the shop(s) are the same.
I would have absolutely no reservations about buying any gear from him at any time, spend some time deciding and then call or use the internet to purchase.

I agree with everyone else, no worries. I bought two tanks from him and some other stuff over the last year, and everything arrived on time, just as I ordered.

WOW !
Thanks alot guys for all the kind words. Sometimes we get so busy with what we are doing that we forget you folks actually talk about us.
We appreciate the business and the referrals.
A note about tanks and the current blow out sales we are having on Faber LP and HP steel. We are processing orders for about 50-75 tanks a day. It's been HUGE. As such we are just a little behind with getting tanks out the door. So please be patient with us at this time.
Again, thank you for all the kind words and support.

I ordered my 2 tanks today. Even put in a special request on the valve. I had a few questions, so I called them up and they were very helpfull. Now I just have to wait on the shipping, but for the price of the tanks, they are worth a little wait.

Same here. Joel's a good guy. I'm also only about 5 hours from his shop, so I can get over there on occasion. A real LDS, just add the back room (more like warehouse) tech area.

Thanks for your order. We will be caught up with all the orders this week before we head to DEMA.
I was at the California warehouse yesterday afternoon. We still have about 200 cylinders left. So that special sale on Faber tanks is still running. It's on our website under Cylinders and TANK SPECIALS.
Thanks ---

I ordered 2 LP 95's from Joel a little over a week ago. Called him with a few questions and he was happy to answer them, no attitude that one may expect from someone with his diving experience. I just got the UPS tracking number saying they will show up at my office tomorrow afternoon!!! I would recommend TDL to anyone and everyone.

So does this mean that if I have not received any shipping info by the time the show starts, that it will be after you return to the shop?
Also wondering if you send out a tracking number when the product ships? Trying to be patient, :D Thanks.

In my experience, it is precisely the people with Joel's extensive diving expertise who do NOT have "attitude". Which is why you really have to watch out when someone WITH attitude professes to tell you what is what.

Well, I bought two Faber LP104s. Got a great deal. The tanks arrived the other day. I gotta say, even with the 1 week wait due to high sales volume, it was a good transaction, and I would reccommend the company to anyone.
Thanks to you guys on SB for reccommending the company to me!

They are a good company to deal with. I got an LP 85 for my with from them. Great service. I even spoke with Joel on one occasion during the deal. It turns out he knows Evelyn Dudas, the owner of my LDS. Any friend on Evelyn's is OK with me.

Thanks for all the good words. We moved close to 300 cylinders in the past 4 weeks -- and I think with all of that we shipped one guy 108s instead of 85s and the moment we found out we shipped the 85s to him in Canada. One set of bands were sent in the wrong size and some folks did not get tracking #s promptly -- though thats not a biggie. There's probably 50 more cylinders leaving the warehouse on Monday and more to follow.
So we thank you for all your orders and patience. But don't foreget we have 240 other items besides cylinders .........
Thanks again for your orders.
Cheers

Met Joel a few years back, several times at Gilboa through a mutual friend. Joel knows no strangers.

I want to pipe in that I am also a VERY satisfied customer. I purchased a Faber HP big hunkin' steel tank just a few weeks ago. Joel responded with warm eMail thanking me for my purchase, when I should expect to receive it, and then later with a tracking number. Arrived exactly as was posted on TDL's website.
Again, purchase with no concerns. He and TDL are straight up, honest, and customer service oriented.

Oh Lori, you give me too much credit. Our goal is to serve divers with the best possible service and products. If along the way we can pass on some good deals as we get them then all the better.

Level 1 for a hat ... sounds like an interesting concept. We toss goodies in boxes at random, usually if we dont have to type the shipping info into the UPS system again ! :D
To get a free tank ....... hmmmm probably a $1500 order for non-tanks.
Lemme work on that one.

You are correct JDS. I DID misread the shipping info; still a pretty good close-out price on Fabers (175.00)
