Hello,

I currently own a scuba center. It has been running now for a long time. I have a blast at it but feel that there is a bigger calling for me in the scuba industry. I just haven't found it yet. I have a true passion for the sport and helping others grow in the industry. I would love to have the opportunity to travel to other dive shops, give advice, meet other diving professionals, etc. I guess I could say that I a currently "bored" at my scuba center. I do plan on maintaining ownership of my shop but am looking for an opportunity that would allow me to travel a little bit. I have considered looking for a sales rep position but am not sure if that is the answer or not. I also am highly envolved with a technology company and feel that my tech background would also be useful to the scuba industry. I have created a forum that allows scuba professionals a central place to collaborate. I was successful in getting hundreds of B2B's working together instead of cutting each other's throats all the time. Of course money is an issue, but not as important to me as being a part of making a positive impact in the diving community. I have learned that if you do what you love, money will follow. I have pasted my resume below. Please let me know your thoughts and what I might be qualified for. I guess I'm looking for a little direction here. I have considered totally giving up the technology industry because of the high stress level associated with it. Thanks for your thoughts.

Well.... IT also helps... I make a living from IT + Scuba marketing....

I know your website
Owner/Operator of www.scubashops.net
Nice idea. But it seems not to work quite well... not a lot of people posting info there (I posted 2 month ago... and still I don't see any reply)

I have over 1800 CV's of Diving Prof. in my website (DiversJobs.com) and I have daily chat with Diving managers searching for people around....

If you want to travel and get job in Diving Industry: Find a different path . Or you become a super-ultra-diving-instructor and end as a Course Director, Cave Diving Instructor, Trimix Instructor.... the more certifications the better. Also remember: There are over 10.000 OWSI out there searching for the same job you want.

If you want to travel around the world diving you need: languages.
German, spanish or french.

In the other hand, you can try to develop an IT solutions for Dive Centers... software... or be able to offer them something different.

Diving is like any other industry... if you do the same as everyone else... you never make it big time.

Best of luck.

I know of a retail manager + instructor job going here in Auckland (New Zealand) if you are interested. PM me and I'll give you the details.

If you want to mix travel and a job opportunity, NZ is well worth considering. English is the main language, awesome and varied diving and a fantastic lifestyle to boot.

Thanks guys. I had thought about pursuing a career as an equipment rep. I know that sounds weird but I would have the opportunity to meet ALOT of people. Thoughts? Other ideas?
