Can anyone recommend what we need to use for our diev float hand line? Should we use a reel, like say, an OMS or a simple plastic reel that resembles the kind you use for a kite?

I want something that is going to make getting line on/off easy and not tangle it all up..

Any suggestions?

I am in New Yok State, and our laws say that we cannot have more than 100 ft of line attached.

I got a plastic one from the LDS. For some reason, an instructor I worked with used line on a cardboard roll last week. He seemed surprised when it had disintegrated underwater. We mark the line ourselves so we know how deep we are setting the float.

Reasoning is that I can wind it or un-wind it with one hand which is always a bonus when multi-tasking. Both will work fine but the plastic one is also cheaper.
It stinks having to drag that thing around but you get used to it.
