Okay, just in time for the Philippines, I got my wide angle and macro lenses from Inon! Woo hoo!!

Unfortunately, all the directions are in Japanese, which is not a language I can read (or speak very well).

The basics, I've got (screw lens onto housing, take pictures). There are stickers that come with each lens and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be using them for something. On the wide angle, when the camera is zoomed out all the way, I get the circle pic, but I figure you're just supposed to zoom in a bit to get rid of it.

I'm shooting an Oly 5060 in an Ike housing with the 67mm threaded lenses, the 165 macro and the 100 wide angle no dome port.

Any clues on what I do with the stickers? Any tips on using the lenses that might be coded in those elusive instructions?

Thanks!

Hey Ishie!

hmmm..I don't remember getting stickers with mine. There were sitckers on the lenses already.

What I first did was mark the housing and the lens at the spot where the threads start to grab each other. Just a straight line (a lot easier to see if this is where the sitcker is). This way when I am under water I just have to look for the lines to match and start screwing. A lot less fumbling around. They also suggest to put a touch of silicon on the threads to make them run easier.

You're right about the zooming part, with the wide angle you shouldn't really zoom in too much as you will get lots of vignetting.

Have fun :D

Hi Ishie

Mine arrived today too !!!!

I was also confused by the round stickers , but looking at the picture showing how to install them I'm guessing that they are to prevent reflection from the front edge of the lens barrel . You and I probably won't need to use them but those with cameras with silver bodies may well have to eg Cannon .

Just my best shot at this .

Ishie,

A quick review of the INON site revealed that you can find PDFs of various manuals online. Here is what I found:

Wide Angle Lens UWL-100

http://www.inonamerica.com/content/docs/UWL100Manual_v1.30.pdf

165 Close Up Lens UCL-165

http://www.inonamerica.com/content/docs/UCL-167M67_v1.10.pdf

Others available at

http://www.inonamerica.com/doc.php

I did a qucik perusal of the Wide Angle Lens Manual, and I didn't see anything about any stickers, but I didn't read it carefully.

Hope that helps a little bit.

On my WPDC-300 housing the UWL-100 lens is visible on the outside of the frame when out of water, but underwater the optics change and there is no obstruction.
