ended up with an unexpected boat dive with a couple friends on their
very nice new boat. the first dive i would guess viz at about 6-8 ft. and the second
at about 4-6 ft. it was adequate viz for rummaging around on the bottom. we did a flat
area out about a mile or so on the first dive then came in and dove the area typically dove by the shore divers. the water temps were 71 degrees and i regretted only bringing a 3 ml shortie, 3 ml full minimum next time around. the weather and temps topside were excellent, a good day !

71 is great! I was diving that in a lake today about 60mi east of you in central FL... course I was wearing spandex and found the water temp very comfortable (yes, I'm a FL native)...

Thats goooood to know that V-beach is clearing up!!

yeah, 71 is totally do-able as long as your ready for it, i was expecting 80 something
for some reason, the gulf cooled off real quick. i'll probably be up for the dive get
together after thanksgiving, i'll bring a full 3 ml as i'm sure the temps will drop a bit more before then. it may be the year for my first 5 ml !
