Howdy, We are scheduled to do our OW checkout dives in a few weeks at Lake Pleasant. Just curious what type of exposure suit most folks are using for the lakes. 7mm, 5mm? Maybe even full 3 mm? I know it depends a lot person to person, but just looking for an idea. Thanks, booth

Hi, booth. Congratulations on your upcoming certification. The water temps at Lake Pleasant have been in the mid to high 60s recently. For diving wet, 7mm would be my choice. You might be able to get away with a 5mm, but make sure to strip it off during your surface interval and allow your core to warm up. The air temps are still running in the 80s here, but the breeze can really make you cold after being in cold water. Make sure you keep us posted on how everything goes. You should also meet us there sometime for some dives. I'm usually at Pleasant at least once a month.

Always good to see a new diver in Arizona ... Welcome!

I had several students out at the lake last week. They were all comfortable in 7MM. I would recommend the same. Water temps were 66 degrees and visibility was a comfortable 6 to 10 feet.

Good luck, look forward to diving with you sometime.
