I have a two year old Oceanic Chute III BC and I just found a pin-hole leak in the bladder. It's on the back side of the BC and I think it was caused by friction due to the bladder rubbing against the tank strap either during diving or storage.

The bladder on the Chute III always looked a little flimsy to me but I kind believed that it would last longer than a couple of years and 80 or so dives.

Any thoughts on whether this is normal? I'm a little worried about just patching it (and I don't know how) and I'm not sure if I should just replace the bladder or go for a BC with a tougher bladder.

Thanks

So I called Oceanic and got some more info... they sell a BC Patch kit specifically for their bioflex air cells.

The person I spoke with was not aware of any problems with the air cell. Even though the BC is past the two year warranty period and it's an air cell problem (not covered) they were willing to replace it for me free of charge.

Another bonus for buying from authorized dealers!
