Whats the water temp of the Florida Keys in January? Any other differences between summer and winter diving down there?

Temps can vary depending on the weather conditions but I have seen it in the mid 60's to lower 70's in January
Water temps are going to be upper 60s to low 70s and you're more likely to get blown out in the winter. The air temps can be anywhere from the 50s to the 80s. It all kinda depends on the timing.

you can look at historical air and water temps (and wind speeds) for Molasses Reef here.

(BTW... the air temp is noted I think as tmp or atemp and water temp is noted as wtmp on their text file historical data. Also note I think the temps are in Celcius, so you'll have to convert most likely.)

It's typically low to mid 70s in the winter.

Good Point! I bring my ski jacket and pants and slip them over my wetsuit. I'm nice and toasty.
