I am getting interested in the theoretical aspects of deco diving, and the methodology that goes into deco dive planning, be it "manually" or using software such as VPlanner or GAP. I have perused some materials available on line, such as Eric Baker's "Understanding M values" and "Introductory deco lessons". I was wondering if someone could point me to a general introductory book or online tutorial covering the subject more broadly.
The idea here is not to train myself to do deco planning, but more to understand how it works. I know how to use standard tables (Bühlmann, USN, French Navy), and regularly do "deep air" dives that require deco stops. I may some day take a mixed gas diving course, but this is not in the cards for now.
Thanks already for any help or pointers.

Thanks much, this is exactly what I was looking for!
