Hello Everyone, my wife and I will be coming to Orlando late March for about two weeks, family trip to Disney. While there we will need to escape and will be looking for opportunities to dive. Can anyone suggest a good dive shop to hook up with and one that preferably offers private (two person) charters or guides. We are incredibly famous and hate crowds.....o,k. we are not famous, we are just two a.o.w. divers who appreciate the value we get with private or guided excursions. Note: we also don't get in tons of diving up here so we like to take it nice and slow at first and enjoy ourselves. We don't like being rushed or risking someone else's enjoyment while we re-aquaint ourselves on the first couple of dives. We will be going to the pool before we arrive to practice some skills.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sean

How far do you want to drive, what kind of things do you want to see/do with your diving and how much would be reasonable to pay? Not sure about "private" trips, the boats have to make a living, but some are more crowded than others.

Options are:
Springs 1-2.5 hours away, costs $5-30 each for a day, 72F freshwater flat calm.
WPB 60' +/-, 2.5 hours away, costs $45-55 some boats busy, some not so, also depends on the day of the week, weekends are busier. Live boat drift diving. In march sometimes we still have some big seas.
Venice Beach 15' fossil hunting, free, 2.5 hours away.
Ft Lauderdale and down to the Keys, similar prices to WPB, some slightly deeper stuff to AOW limits, about 3 hours to Ft L and 5 hours to Key Largo. Most of it is anchor down and come back to the boat.
New Symrna 70'+ game fish and a bit cooler temps as its out of the gulf stream so there is less less current. 1.5 hours drive, $50-60 IIRC.

Orlando is nicely in the middle of everything, but its a compromise as the diving isnt all that close, but there is plenty in most directions.
