What would one expect to pay for a complete setup? I know there are lots of variations, so list what you can. If you could also list where this price would be from, that would be great.

I am mostly interested in either the OMS IQ, with BP, crotch strap, and either a 35 or 45 wing. Diversdiscoutn has it at $590.00 which is cheaper than any of my LDS will do it the same rig for.

The other package I am interested in is a halcyon with an explorer wing, bp, crotch strap, and bp cover. Cheapist I see is $500.00

What would the cost be for a Fredt, with harness? Can I use a bp cover with one of freds bp's?

85% of my diving is warm water, all diving is wet pretty much.

After 10 years of being a dive master I am doing the IDC in Sept, and figure I might as well re-do my whole rig.

Get the Halcyon. BTW, the Explorer wing is for doubles. If you're diving a single, you need a Pioneer.

Regard FredT prices....

The answer is, it depends...on the size BP you are ordering, on the grade of SS, on whether you are ordering an STA and what type of STA (he makes 2 kinds), etc., etc.

Fred was also saying recently that he is working on some custom wings for single and doubles diving. I would ask him about these as well.

E-mail Fred at ftagge@goldinc.com for a price list.

Explorer vs. Pioneer -- Explorers have more lift and are wider. If you use these for singles, they will be "flapping" all over the place.

It's simplier and it's more robust, making it better. Is cost your only consideration?

I have been able to pick up the following off Ebay.

$145.00 (Gary's 3/16" S/S BP, DIR harness w/crotch strap)
$250.00 (OMS 45lbs wing, S/S BP, DIR harness, STA - almost new)
$100.00 (Diverite travel wing - brand new)
$225.00 (Halcyon 27lb. wing - brand new)

I am still kicking myself for missing a brand new DiveRite "Trek" wing for $156.00!!!

The $250.00 OMS rig gave me an additional BP and harness PLUS a needed STA! For about the same price as a wing alone.

Gotta love Ebay. :)
