I am pursuing a Nitrox cert soon and am shopping for a new computer (my old one doesn't support nitrox). I have found the Oceanic Veo 250 and Uwatec Prime for relatively the same price. Does anybody have any thoughts or comments on these two? Differences?
Thanks.

I do not know a thing about the Oceanic, but I do find that my Uwatec Aladin Prime is reliable and easy to operate. Ive owned the Prime since April,2005. The soft ware makes download and dive logging reviews easy to do. The battery is user replaceable. I wear gloves that are 5mm and I have no problems operating the pushbuttons underwater. The Aladin Prime does 50% Nitrox mixes. The TEC version has much more versatility for the Technical diver and allows 100% O2 mixes.

I'm currently using the Veo200 which is identical to the Veo250 except for the button placement. I love my Veo 200 and would recommend it to anyone always. BUT if the price is the same as the aladdin, I would go for the aladdin.

I use an Uwatec Aladin Prime and it works well on Nitrox with a nice safety stop timer too. The software does provide a lot of information and a nice detailed dive profile. But, I also use an Oceanic VersaPro as a backup computer on my wrist. This display is larger but their software package is weak!

yeah, I agree, the oceanlog s/w for Oceanic is probably it's weakest selling point. But I do love my VEO200...
