I am seeking some nautical maps of the St. Lawrence River showing water depths, shipwreck names and locations, etc.

Someone told me that the NOAA sells them.

Are any available online for free?

Tavi,
yea, thats where I have been, but I haven't quite figured out HOW to find charts for the St. Lawrence River!

You'd be looking for charts off this list I think:

http://chartmaker.ncd.noaa.gov/pod/Update.htm#Block

Your best bet, however, is to go to a local boating shop [like West Marine or something to that effect] and buy the chart you want. They also have chart books, I got one that has about 100 charts in it, from Block Island, RI all the way up to the Canadian border. It was expensive, but definately worth it [it's got scribbles throughout]....

MapTech looks great, but I don't see any Great Lakes maps...

?????

I was able to find some things for the Great Lakes...

I'm going to plead geographical idiocy and admit that I am not sure which of the lakes the St. Lawrence river touches.

The site does have some stuff in the ChartBook section (as opposed to the waterproof chart section).

To tell the truth, I just use Map Server...you can pretty much plug in anything you want and it will give you the portion of the map you need.

Here is an example: a nautical map of Mackinac Island, MI.

If you poke around a bit, you might be able to find a bit more stuff for the Great Lakes. Hope this helped.

Map Server, meaning...

Go to http://www.maptech.com - across the upper right, you'll see a menu. The second option from the left should read Online maps, charts and photos. Click that to activate a dropdown menu. The first option in the dropdown will be Start MapServer. That is the Map Server...

Hi,
Been looking at MAPTECH'S products and I am curious of their NOAA software shows where shipwrecks ARE, etc. on each map.

???

I'm looking at the Kingston, Canada kit.

Not cheap at $100! Anyone have a used CD Rom to sell?
