At present I use steel bands, but as I use the same tanks for single and independents, I am finding it a little annoying/time consuming changing them over.

Does anyone use cloth tank bands when using twins, how do they compare to standard stainless steel tank bands? Do you have any problems to do with stability?

Thanks

John

Are you manifolding the tanks when you double 'em up or keeping them independent? If you're manifolding, then stability of the doubling hardware is extremely important, and I would not recommend any of the less robust (than steel bands) arrangements. If you're keeping them independent, there are several offerings - haven't seen the one I use in a few years (I wouldn't recommend it anyway), but Dive-Rite has one that looks pretty good (though I have no personal experience with it).

I have seen the bands that DiveRite sells for independent dbls. I believe that they are designed/made by Dan Berg. He also makes the "Ultimate Pony Tamer."

Go with Highland Millwork bands - best in the Industry

At present I am using my tanks as independents and has no plans of manifolding them. I was thinking of something along the lines of the bands in shown in the below link.

At the above link you will have to go Accessories, then twin set kits.

Sorry about that

All,

I'm looking at this at the moment and I'll probably just get 2 STA's and bolt them together with SS eyelet bolts inbetween - this is essentially what DR use and what I've seen numerous people here use.

This system works fine for independants - the guys here use it for cave diving, wreck diving etc. The DR one was used on DR's trip to the Nullabour (see their web page).

Hope this helps - Dave.

What method does the Dive Rite setup use to connect the twins to the BCD? I can see how they connect the tanks together, but what sort of attachment do they use to interface to the harness/BP?
