I am thinking about diving at the Dominican Republic. Any other helpful tips appreciated. (ie. resorts, safety of travel on island, etc.)

I'll be in the north side of the island in july. I plan to advance my training at this site.

I've only dived in DR once about 15yrs ago near Sto Dgo in about 60ft. Clear beautiful blue water, lots of fish.
From what I've heard, Dom Rep diving is pretty good and cheap. Many dive shops to choose from and frendly people abound.

Have fun. Don't forget to try a Presidente :)
