boomx5 August 10th, 2002, 10:26 PM Does anybody know where I can take a DIR-F class in Northern California? cybordolphin August 11th, 2002, 10:15 PM Or Southern Calif.. for that matter... ;) Hal Iotis August 11th, 2002, 10:36 PM Hi Scott - Did you receive the detailed response that I sent last week regarding your PM to me about local (Sac area) dive training? I realize that re-doing BOW may not be what you need, but a refresher course or AOW would probably suit your circumstances better than jumping right into DIR-F. Better yet, why not update your equipment as you stated, then dive dive dive. There are several dive clubs in the area, and as I mentioned in my PM, Friendly Fridays on the Cypress Sea are a great way to get back into diving. The Breakwater in Monterey is also a good refresher dive site. My offer still stands. - Tom divernva August 11th, 2002, 11:29 PM The GUE website has a schedule of classes. I didn't see any for CA, but I've heard of a few in the past in Catalina. You may want to check the week view for more detail. There is a group called BAUE in No. Cal that is tech oriented. They may have a better idea of the DIR-F classes in the area. Better yet, if you can catch up with them, I'm sure they can give you a good overview of DIR and a lot of skills from the Fundamentals class. Here's a link: http://www.baue.org/index.html Good luck! Ken boomx5 August 12th, 2002, 12:50 AM I going down tomorrow and signing up for my AOW. I was going to do it this weekend but didn't have the time. I will let you all know how it goes. boomx5 August 13th, 2002, 11:42 PM I found a guy who does DIR-F classes in northern California. Just as soon as I'm done with AOW and nitrox classes, I'm signing up for the DIR fundamentals class.
