How do you explain/justify/hide what you spend on gear?

I dunno man... that's a dangerous path to go down.

When she eventually finds out, she's going to demand $4500 worth of stuff too.

Remember Kobe Bryant? Lying to his woman cost him 4 million dollars.

My $.02,

-Brandon.

Having a diving spouse works best. Failing that, make sure they have an expensive hobby of their own. (I have both - hubby is into UW photography - anything I buy pales next to his habit!)

Simple....divorce. I live how I like.

Yeah, divorce is a cheap alternative.

Oh, just be a man! Or.. you could get a side job that pays cash.. Or you can sell some of her old knick knacks that she hasn't seen in awhile.:D

I agree with es601, be a man! tell her the truth!

"Baby, even you cost me more than that gear, come'on!"...:D

:bash:

Makes me glad my wife decided to dive as well.

But here's a different spin. She likes to dive and she does dive even though she is not obsessed as I am. She has no interest in winter time drysuit diving and has 1/2 as many dives as I and that's all fine and good. The tally for her gear and training is not that different than mine but while I have side tracked some hobbies to dive she has carried on with her other $$ interests.

So you see in the end I have no guilt when we look at the whole hobby/sport budget!

Pete
