I just bought a Suunto Cobra from my pal who has had it for awhile. Is there any way that I can erase the dives that he logged over the years before I use it and download lots of dives that arent mine? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You cannot delete the logged dives - but you can zero the max depth with the software.

Ah yes, A new member - so many answers and SO WRONG!

Does this software erase all dives only or can you select dives you want to remove?

I have logged 4 dives on my s/h cobra

Currently - All dives are cleared. While it appears possible to selectivly erase dives it's not as easy as it sounds - and it would be slow in any case. You would need to download and reconstruct the DCs memory than reload the dives you want to keep, resetting a couple of pointers in the proccess. It can be done but I don't want to be responsible for screwing it up eyebrow

Suunto's software lets you effectively ( not delete, but) Ignore dives.

Thanks! I have it as treeware too.
Suunto also says the Gekko doesn't download - IT DOES. You just can't use suunto's POS software to do it.
It's checks the 'computer type' over the Interface and if it sees a Gekko, it refuses to download the data.
